August is full of beginnings and endings- school’s back in session, home gardens are giving up their harvest, fall menus and the ubiquitous pumpkin spice parade begins. But with the weather still warm and sunny, we’re stretching summer as long as we can on Water Street.
There are lots of fresh cocktails and summery entrees and brunch dishes to enjoy on our patios…for example cold oysters at SixtyFour – Wine Bar & Kitchen and light and fresh Falafel at Vasili’s, not to mention a wide array of tacos to pair with margs at Quiubo frosty palomas alongside your Blue Sushi Sake Grill gems, Tiki Tuesdays at Santo Cielo and a plethora of icy brews, spritzes and teas at Sparrow Coffee.
SixtyFour offers two fabulous Wine Dinners in August, the first featuring Opus wines and the second showcasing Caymus and Wagner Family wines. Check their website for reservations.
The wine bar also featuring live music by Will Kopecky on Wednesdays from 6-9. And show of your knowledge of fairly useless information at their Sixty Four Wine Bar Trivia Nights, featuring a Taylor Swift theme on August 13 and The Office questions on August 27. Competition should be fierce so reserve a table now!
Why not spend a little last minute quality time with your favorite kids, gal pals or neighborhood moms at Sea Love Candle Bar and Boutique, making your custom scented candles and shopping all their summery and Naperville themed gifts and decor? And don’t forget to outfit your young (or not so young) sports fans with great sports and college garb and gear from Pro Image Sports. Pamper your beach hair and sun-dried skin at Solaia Luxury Salon and Spa and grab those last minute wedding or off-to-college gifts from Naperville Jewelry.
And things are just ducky now through September 9, as we host three beautiful painted duck sculptures and participate in the Downtown Duck Hunt. Mini ducks are hidden at Ben & Jerry’s, Pro Image Sports, Sea Love, SixtyFour – Wine Bar & Kitchen and Sparrow. Check out details and a map at https://downtownnaperville.com/…/summer-painted…/
Reservations are going FAST! September means the return of the Water Street Charity Long Table Dinner featuring a 6-course dinner with signature cocktail and wine pairings presented by all the chefs on Water Street. Enjoy jazz by Pete Ellman and a silent auction of Water Street goodies all under the twinkling lights on Water Street. The event on Sunday, September 7 is sponsored by Marquette Companies, Gerald Cares and Busey Bank and benefits West Suburban Community Pantry.
