We are excited to share that our very own Solaia Luxury Salon and Spa at Water Street has been named a “Salon of Distinction” in the nationally acclaimed “Salons of the Year” interior design competition sponsored by SALON TODAY, the leading business publication for the professional salon industry. Solaia, owned by Amanda Toppel was featured in the May/June 2018 issue of SALON TODAY magazine.
“This year, the competition was tough, as salon after salon created gorgeous spaces where clients could enjoy beauty experiences while team members could do their best work,” says Stacey Soble, editor in chief of SALON TODAY.
Toppel highlighted the unique features of Solaia Luxury Salon and Spa which were noted in the magazine: “The front desk features white sparkle, stacked-ledge stone. The distressed-porcelain floor tiles provide a vintage-factory wood aesthetic, which coordinates with a classic herringbone pattern inset. From the retail area, you catch a glimpse of our hospitality lounge, which invites guests to indulge in little nibbles while sipping fine wine, champagne or cocktails while relaxing on a peacock-colored sofa under our starburst chandelier.”
Salons were judged in six design categories: Use of Color, Lighting, Flooring, Efficient Use of Space, Consistency of Design and Overall Aesthetics. All entries were evaluated in a multi-step process by the editors and art directors of SALON TODAY and MODERN SALON.
